Agaricomycetidae is the most species-rich subclass of the Agaricomycetes . It includes many known edible and poisonous mushrooms . In the past, the name Hymenomycetidae , or Germanized Hymenomycetes, was common for Agaricomycetidae .
Systematics
Recent phylogenetic research has shown that the subclasses previously separated into cap and belly mushrooms (Gastromycetidae) cannot be maintained and can therefore be combined in the subclass Agaricomycetidae. Hibbett and authors divide the Agaricomycetidae into three orders:
