IC 4597 is a lens-shaped galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Scorpio in the southern sky . It is an estimated 192 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on July 16, 1903 .
