IC 4612 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Hercules. It is estimated to be 434 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6195 , IC 4610 , IC 4611 .

The Type IIn supernova SN 2011cc was observed here.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 25, 1903 .
