Beatrix Langner
Beatrix Katharina Langner (born July 2, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German literary scholar , critic and writer .
life and work
Beatrix Langner grew up in the Rhineland and moved to the GDR with her parents in 1964 . After studying German and English at the Humboldt University in Berlin , she completed her doctorate in 1982. phil. from. Her dissertation deals with the structure and function of narrative forms in Goethe's novel Wilhelm Meister's Wanderjahre .
She has been working as a freelance writer since 1988. Since then she has published numerous literary, theater and film reviews and features for print media, among others. a. Berliner Zeitung , Süddeutsche Zeitung and Neue Zürcher Zeitung , as well as essays, literary features and audio pieces (at times under the pseudonym Katharina Roesmer) for radio, etc. a. Deutschlandradio and Deutschlandfunk . In addition to the literature of the 18th century and the European Enlightenment, interdisciplinary aspects of the convergence between the arts and sciences and between nature and history form a focus of her writing and thinking.
Beatrix Langner is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
