IC 4892 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is an estimated 179 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 4887 .

The Type IIP supernova SN 2013cz was observed here.

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on September 17, 1900 .
