IC 4894 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Telescope in the southern sky . It is around 375 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 100,000 light years .

The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on August 31, 1904 .
