IC 4888 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Telescope in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 112 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 30,000 ly. Together with IC 4889 , it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair.
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on August 31, 1904 .
