iOS 10 is the 10th version of the iOS mobile operating system from Apple , which was developed as the successor to iOS 9. It was announced at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 13, 2016 and released on September 13, 2016.
On September 19, 2017, iOS 10 was replaced by its successor iOS 11.
As part of product maintenance, an update was also published 3 years after the initial release. The current version is called iOS 10.3.4 and has been available for the iPhone 5 and iPad 4 since July 22, 2019.
Changes
iOS 10 includes changes to 3D Touch and the lock screen. The swipe to unlock the device has been removed, instead you have to press the home button. There are new functions for some applications: Messages has got additional emojis and third-party applications can expand the functionality in iMessage . Maps has a redesigned user interface and additional functions have been added.
Supported devices
Unlike iOS 9 , iOS 10 does not support devices with the Apple A5 and A5X SoC .
