Ignaz Frenay

Karl Maria Ignaz Frenay (born February 7, 1858 in Mainz , † December 11, 1912 in Wiesbaden ) was a Hessian lawyer and politician ( center ) as well as a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

Ignaz Frenay was the son of the businessman Karl Christian Frenay and his wife Marie Luise, née Eisenhuth. Frenay, who was a Catholic, married Franziska nee Meister. He studied law in Würzburg , Bonn and Gießen and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD . During his studies he became a member of the KDStV Markomannia Würzburg in the CV in 1876 . From 1884 to 1902 he worked as a lawyer in Mainz.

From 1896 to 1910 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Rheinhessen 9 / Ober-Ingelheim . His successor in the state parliament was Friedrich Wolf .

In 1903 he was unanimously elected by the city council from 31 candidates as the first paid mayor of the city of Bensheim . He remained mayor until his death in 1912.
