Igor Dorochin ( Russian Игорь Дорохин ; born August 15, 1962 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a former German - Kazakh ice hockey player , who during his active time at the Cologne EC in the ice hockey Bundesliga and then with the Eisbären Berlin and Augsburg Panthern played in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

The 1.80 m tall striker began his career in his hometown of Ust-Kamenogorsk , where he was on the ice for Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk in the second and later in the first Soviet ice hockey league from 1984 . In 1992 , the left shooter moved to Germany for the Cologne EC , for which he played in the Bundesliga for two years.

After a year-long commitment at EHC Freiburg in the second-class first division , Dorochin returned to the top German division. In the 1995/96 season , the striker wore the jersey of the Eisbären Berlin in the German Ice Hockey League, which had been newly founded the year before .

In the summer of 1996 Igor Dorochin moved back to the second division, where he was promoted to the leading player of the Heilbronn EC from now on . After two more years in Freiburg and a short DEL stay with the Augsburger Panthers in the 2002/03 season , the attacker returned to the Falken, where he finally ended his professional career in 2006.

Dorochin, who now also has German citizenship, has been training the ESC Bad Liebenzell in the fourth-class Regionalliga Südwest since summer 2009 .

International

For the Kazakh national team , Igor Dorochin played the ice hockey world championships in 1996 and 1997 and the 1998 Winter Olympics .
