The place is between Heggen and Finnentrop in a side valley of the Bigge . Starting at 240 m above sea level. NHN on Landstrasse 539 opposite Altfinnentrop , the village runs along the "Heggener Siepen " up to a height of 320 m above sea level. NHN.

history

The village of Illeschlade is one of the youngest places in the community of Finnentrop. After the forests and fields around today's village were initially used and farmed by Heggen farmers, the first house was built around 1830, which must have been the only one for several decades. The popular rumor of a small iron mine in the Illeschlade could not be confirmed in a document. Only in the course of the construction of the Ruhr-Sieg route from 1858 to 1861 and the associated economic upswing in the region did the population and with it the town grow, so that by 1910 there are already 14 houses.

The origin of the name of the place is associated on the one hand with "Halle", "Halde", "Einschnitt" and "Grenzwall", on the other hand with "Iltishügel".
