Imany (real name: Nadia Mladjao ; born April 5, 1979 in Martigues , France ) is a Franco- Comorian soul singer . Her stage name was derived from the Swahili word "imani", which means "belief", "trust" and "sincerity". Imany currently lives in Paris .

Career

After school in Paris, Imany went to New York and worked as a model for Calvin Klein , among others . After taking singing lessons there, she returned to Paris in 2008 to start her singing career. Her first album Shape of a Broken Heart was released in May 2011. In 2014 she produced the soundtrack for the film Sous les jupes des filles with Audrey Dana .

In spring 2016, their track Don't Be So Shy became a radio hit in the remix version by the Russian duo Filatov & Karas . He reached in France No. 1 , No. 3 in Switzerland and was a number one hit in Poland , Austria and Germany .
