Immanuel Kroeker

Immanuel Kroeker (born January 24, 1913 in Wernigerode ; † 2001 in Graefelfing ) was a German architect and university professor .

Live and act

He was the tenth child of the mission director Jakob Kroeker . After an internship as a bricklayer and carpenter, Immanuel Kroeker studied architecture at the Technical University of Stuttgart from 1933 to 1939 , with Hugo Keuerleber among others . From 1936 to 1937 he worked for Roderich Fick's architecture office in Herrsching am Ammersee , and in 1939 for Paul Bonatz in Stuttgart. In the post-war period, Kroeker was best known for his theoretical and practical contributions to school building. From 1950 to 1951 he was head of the Institute for Modern School Construction in Munich . He then worked in his own office in Munich, from 1961 together with Sixt Schall . From 1961 to 1978 Kroeker was professor for building construction and design at the Technical University of Karlsruhe .

His estate is in the Architecture Museum of the Technical University of Munich , and there is also a small inventory on Kroeker in the Southwest German Archive for Architecture and Civil Engineering .
