Imre Tagscherer (born May 25, 1972 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian biathlete and cross-country skier . Between 1995 and 2008 he took part in 13 Olympic Winter Games and World Championships.

Imre Tagscherer works as a mechanic and lives in Budapest. He has been practicing biathlon since 1986. In 1992 he was appointed to the Hungarian national team. He starts for the KSI ski club and trains himself. His brother Zoltán Tagscherer is also a biathlete and cross-country skier.

Tagscherer made his debut in an individual in Antholz in 1993 in the Biathlon World Cup and finished 99th there. The Hungarian's performance leveled off in this area, only rarely was he able to achieve significantly better results. The first biathlon world championships in which the athlete took part were also held in Antholz in 1995 . Like a year later in Ruhpolding , he only started in the season with which he was 22nd every time. 1997 in Osrblie , 2000 in Oslo , 2001 in Pokljuka , 2004 in Oberhof , 2005 in Hochfilzen , 2007 in Antholz, and 2008 in Östersund , he started in the individual and in the sprint, but could never qualify for a pursuit race. In 1999 he only competed in singles. There he achieved his best result at a World Cup as 77th. Tagscherer also competed in singles and sprints in Salt Lake City (70th and 75th) in 2002 , in Turin (77th and 74th) in 2006 and in Vancouver (82nd and 80th) in 2010 at the Olympic Games. The best place in the World Cup was 67th place in the sprint, achieved twice in 1999 in Valcartier and Lake Placid .

In addition to the biathlon, Tagscherer has also occasionally started cross-country skiing since 2001. Initially he only competed in FIS races, he was nominated in the sprint at the Olympic Games in 2002 and reached 48th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo in 2007 , the Hungarian started in the sprint (61st), with his brother in the team sprint (18th) and over 15 kilometers (72nd).
