The 2008-09 international cricket season took place between September 2008 and March 2009. The winter season was mainly home games for teams from South Asia, the Caribbean and Oceania. The tests carried out on the international tours formed the basis for the ICC Test Championship . The ODIs formed the basis for the ICC ODI Championship .
