The Isar Plant 3 is a hydropower plant on the Isar .
The power plant, which was built from 1921 to 1923 and renovated from 1977 to 1978, is located on the Braunau railway bridge south of Munich city center. The power plant's output of 3.3 megawatts is provided by two Kaplan bulb turbines, each with an output of 1,650 kW . Stadtwerke München is the operator of the power plant .
The power plant is not located directly on the Isar, but is supplied with water from a 12 km long Isar works canal diverted from Buchenhain . A large part of the water flows back into the Isar directly behind the power plant, a small part runs past it to the west, drives the Stadtbachstufe , crosses under Ehrengutstrasse and crosses the Rodenstock residential complex as Westermühlbach and feeds the Munich city streams .
