The Ismaning reservoir power plant is a run -of-river power plant on the Middle Isar Canal .
The power plant, which opened in 1951, is located at the inlet of the Ismaninger reservoir . Just as the reservoir is generally called Ismaning reservoir , although it is not located in the territory of the Ismaning municipality, the power plant is also usually referred to as the Ismaning reservoir power station , since it is located on the north side of the water body formed by the fish ponds and the reservoir. In fact, both the power plant and most of the lake are located in the area of the municipality of Aschheim .
The storage lake power plant is operated by Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH . It has an average fall height of 3.5 m. The two Kaplan turbines with a flow rate of 28 m³ / s and 125 min −1 were replaced in 1995 with turbines made from a different alloy, which hardly show any damage from cavitation . One of the old turbine wheels is on display in front of the Neufinsing power plant . The electrical output of the power plant is 1.3 MW . The power plant was originally controlled from the Neufinsing power plant. Since May 1, 2011, however, all E.ON Wasserkraft power plants on the Isar, Lech and Danube have been controlled from their headquarters in Landshut .
