Alypow appeared internationally for the first time in January 2002 at the Junior World Championships in Schonach . There he finished 19th in the 30 km mass start race and fourth in the sprint. The following year he won gold in the 30 km mass start race at the 2003 Winter Universiade in Tarvisio . He was also tenth in the sprint and 20th over 10 kilometers in the classic technique. He ran his first World Cup race at the beginning of the 2003/04 season in Düsseldorf , which he finished in 49th place in the sprint. In the further course of the season he won his first World Cup points with 17th place in the skiathlon in Falun and achieved his first podium places in the World Cup in Otepää with third place in the 30 km mass start race and with the relay. In February 2004 he came back on the podium with Vasily Rotschew with second place in the team sprint in Oberstdorf and achieved another top Zrhn placement in the individual World Cup with eighth place in the sprint in Trondheim . At the end of the season he finished 41st in the overall World Cup. At the beginning of the following season he won his only World Cup victory in the team sprint in Bern together with Vasily Rotschew . His best result of the season in the World Cup singles was the 12th place in the sprint in Nové Město . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 2005 , he achieved 34th place in the sprint and eighth place in the team sprint. He did not finish the race over 50 kilometers. In the 2005/06 season he made it into the points 12 times in the World Cup singles. His best placement was sixth in the 15 km freestyle in Canmore . In January 2006 he became the Russian champion over 50 km. At the highlight of the season, the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , he won the bronze medal in the team sprint with Vasily Rotschew . He also achieved 28th place in the sprint and sixth place with the relay. He finished the season in 35th place in the overall World Cup. In the following season he mostly achieved midfield placements in the World Cup. At the Tour de Ski 2006/07 he finished 29th. He finished second in the 30 km mass start race in Cavalese . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo , he came in 39th place in the 50 km mass start race. After two starts in the World Cup, which he finished outside of the points, at the beginning of the 2007/08 season he started in Krasnogorsk for the first time in the Eastern Europe Cup and finished 43rd over 15 km classic. In the further course of the season he won his first victory in the Eastern Europe Cup in Rybinsk in the skiathlon and at the end of the season he finished 17th overall. In the following season he came in the points four times in the World Cup. In February 2009 he came third in the Eastern Europe Cup in Rybinsk over 15 km classic. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he won the Eastern Europe Cup in Werschina Tjoi over 15 km freestyle and sprint. Over 10 km classic he came third. Another victory followed in Krasnogorsk. At the Tour de Ski 2010 he was blocked for 14 days because of abnormally high blood values. At the end of the season he won the overall ranking of the Eastern Europe Cup. In the years that followed, up to his last active season 2013/14, he mainly started in the Eastern Europe Cup. He mostly achieved placements outside of the points.
