Jérémy Perbet (born December 12, 1984 in Le Puy-en-Velay ) is a French football player on the position of a striker .

Career

Start of career in hometown

Perbet began his active career as a football player when he was a child with his hometown club USF Le Puy , which he belonged to until 2003 and which he was also a member of the club's men's team by then. After he was used for a period of time for the lower class team, Perbet moved in the summer break before the 2003/04 season in the second highest French league, Ligue 2 , where he signed his first professional contract with Clermont Foot . It didn't take long for the committed center forward to make his professional debut for the club. He made his first professional appearance in the first round on August 2, 2003 in a 0-0 home draw against FC Rouen , when he replaced the 27-year-old Stéphane Samson on the offensive from the 80th minute of the game . His first professional goal was also not long in coming, because on September 27, 2003 he scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 home win over FC Gueugnon . After he came to his missions primarily as a substitute player at the beginning, he was finally used in the Auvergner's starting line-up in mid-March 2004 , but played only once in his total of 26 league appearances this season over the full game. He scored a total of four goals for his team.

Substitute for Clermont Foot

After he ranked with the team in the tightly staggered final table of the previous season only in 14th place and with four points ahead of the next relegated, the season placement of Clermont Foot deteriorated significantly in the 2004/05 season . The team in 18th place just barely missed relegation to the third division, although they did well in the Coupe de la Ligue 2004/05 and the Coupe de France 2004/05 and came quite far in the course of the tournaments. But for Perbet himself this season did not go very well. Although he was used in 33 championship games and scored five times in favor of his team, he rarely got beyond inserts as a substitute.

In the 2005/06 season he completed only two league games for Clermont and then moved that same season to AS Moulins in the third-class French national (D3) , where he quickly became a regular. Perbet was used in 33 championship games and scored 23 goals, which corresponded to about half of the league goals that the team scored in the entire 2005/06 season. At the end of the season he was allowed to call himself together with Jawad El Hajri from the US Boulogne as top scorer of the Championnat de France National 2005/06. Despite the outstanding performance of the center forward, the team had to make their way to the French fourth division at the end of the season in 19th and penultimate place.

From Moulins to Strasbourg

But before that happened, Perbet moved in June 2006, just in time for the start of the 2006/07 season, from the central French Moulins to Strasbourg , where he was included in the squad of Racing Strasbourg , which was then playing in the second division, free of charge . He signed a three-year contract with the Alsatians. After his scoring time in France's third division, Perbet's renewed breakthrough in Ligue 2 did not really want to succeed in the 2006/07 season either. In the months of August and September he was used in only seven championship games, in which he was on the field only once for the full duration of the game. He also managed his first and only league goal for Strasbourg on his third mission. In addition, the center forward was also in five league games of the B team of the club in the CFA , the fourth highest French football league, in action and scored twice. Even before his competitive debut, Perbet scored a goal in a 2-0 win in the friendly against Bayern Munich .

As a loan from Charleroi and Angers

After only a few appearances with the Alsatians, Perbet moved to Belgium at the turn of 2006/07 , where he signed a loan contract with Sporting Charleroi until the end of the season. The trained striker offered good offensive football for the Belgians, which was rewarded with six goals from 13 league games by the end of the season. But even in Belgium Perbet could not really assert himself as a regular and could only play three championship games over the full distance and was either substituted in or out in the remaining games. With Charleroi he even came in fifth place in the top Belgian soccer league by the end of the season. After Perbet returned to his home club after a loan period, which has meanwhile been promoted to Ligue 1 as third in the table in France's second division , he was awarded a second time soon afterwards.

This time the center forward went to SCO Angers , a football club from western France, within his home country . After the club showed great interest in the young striker talent, Perbet was finally equipped in mid-July 2007 with a loan agreement with a purchase option. As in his previous positions, the 22-year-old was not able to assert himself at SCO Angers and mostly only acted as a substitute player. After eleven championship games in which he remained goalless, he left the club at the end of the season without SCO Angers taking the option to buy. In addition to the appearances for the professional team, Perbet was also in two games of the fourth division playing B team in action, in which he scored two goals. Even before his departure at the end of the season, the striker was linked to the Austrian Bundesliga club SK Rapid Wien in January 2008 . However, a move failed due to an injury to the Frenchman that he had recently suffered. This was also one of the reasons why he was only able to take part in the official league events of his team sporadically.

Another move to Belgium

After a number of Belgian clubs, including FC Brussels , expressed their interest in the young striker at the end of June 2008 , he switched to AFC Tubize in Belgium's premier league on loan with immediate effect . Although the move to FC Brussels was almost completed and Perbet even had meetings with FC Brussels President Johan Vermeersch , who spoke to him about the terms of the contract, Perbet signed a one-season loan contract with the club from Tubize . In the league, the striker with the shirt number 12 was used in all 17 championship games up to now until the turn of the year and scored ten goals. After Perbet received inquiries from abroad again - among other things, the Ukrainian first division club Metalist Kharkiv wanted to sign him - he completed another 14 league games for Tubize, in which he contributed three goals for his team.

Despite his noticeable goal danger, Perbet could not avoid the relegation of his team to the second division at the end of the season. Even before his team was relegated and his loan contract expired, Tubize took the option to buy the center forward and signed him for another season until 2010. In the summer break before the 2009/10 season, Perbet was courted by other national and international clubs. These include KSV Roeselare from Belgium and FC Bnei Sachnin from Israel . Also in the EXQI-League Perbet acted very dangerous and scored eleven times in 16 games.

Confusion about change and commitment at Lokeren

After the dangerous center forward had been in contact with VV St. Truiden for a long time and a transfer to the club from Flanders was confirmed at the end of December 2009, the move to the financially troubled club at the beginning of January 2010 should go smoothly. But shortly before the contract was signed, according to media reports it was no longer certain whether Perbet would really move to Sint-Truiden . Just a few days later, the 25-year-old signed a two and a half year contract with SC Lokeren in Belgium's first class. It was agreed not to disclose the transfer fee, but the transfer fee is estimated at around 350,000 euros. At Lokeren, Perbet made six league appearances over the course of the season, as well as four more appearances in the play-offs held at the end of the season. He also scored his first competitive goal for Lokeren. In the current 2010/11 season (as of September 30, 2010), Perbet only played a short stint in a championship game. At the beginning of August 2010, the RAEC Mons confirmed that they were interested in Perbet and his teammate Rafael Santiago Maria . The Brazilian was subsequently accepted by RAEC Mons, but Perbet remained loyal to his club. Soon after, knee problems, which have accompanied him for almost his entire career, threw him back, which is why he had to pause for several weeks.

In Spain

In the winter break of the 2012/13 season, Perbet moved to the Segunda División and signed with Villarreal , who had to join the said league at the end of the previous season. With the club, Perbet made it to the Primera División and finished sixth in the table with Villarreal, which is equivalent to qualifying for the play-offs for the Europa League .

Change to Turkey

For the 2014/15 season, Perbet moved to the Turkish süper Lig for newly promoted Istanbul Başakşehir .

Return to Belgium

After only one season he left Turkey and was loaned to the Belgian first division club Sporting Charleroi for one season. Here he was top scorer with 24 goals and was signed by KAA Gent the following season . Just a year later, Club Bruges Perbet signed, but immediately loaned him back to KV Kortrijk . Since summer 2018 he has been in the service of Sporting Charleroi again .

Shortly before the end of the transfer window, a loan to Oud-Heverlee Löwen for the rest of the 2019/20 season was agreed. At that time, Löwen was playing in the 2nd division .
