Jörg Emil Allgäuer (born June 9, 1966 in New York ) is a German-American communications manager.

Life

Jörg Allgäuer studied economics and political science - among others at Oxford University , Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , Technical University of Munich and Columbia University in New York; He completed his studies with a doctorate and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Jörg Allgäuer began his professional career in 1990 in corporate communications at Siemens AG in Munich . From 1993 to 1999 Allgäuer worked as head of program marketing at ARD ( Bayerischer Rundfunk ) and from 1999 to 2003 as spokesman for financial communications at Allianz AG in Munich. From 2003 to 2007 he was director of corporate communications and a member of the executive board of the fund company Fidelity Investments in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Afterwards, as Director and Senior Vice President of the Unicredit Group, he was in charge of communications at HypoVereinsbank, with overall responsibility for external and internal communications activities as well as the bank's art and cultural management . In 2011 he took over the corporate communications of that time in the MDAX -listed media company Sky Germany AG . Since 2017 he has been responsible for global media work and digital communication at the reinsurance company Munich Re .

In 1995 Jörg Allgäuer founded the Journalists Network organization together with Michael Anthony, which organizes exchange programs for young journalists in many countries and regions (including China , India , Israel , Latin America , Eastern Europe , Turkey , Weimar Triangle ). Awards

In 2007, Jörg Allgäuer was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit of Merit for his long-term commitment to international understanding .
