Jakob Cedergren (born January 10, 1973 in Lund ) is a Swedish-born Danish actor in film, television and theater. He played in several cinema productions, including Stealing Rembrandt - Claws for Beginners , Dark Horse , Rage , Timetrip - The Curse of the Viking Witch and Submarino . But he was best known for his roles in the Scandinavian television series Northern Lights - Murderer Without Remorse and Murder in Midsummer .

life and career

Jakob Cedergren, born in 1973 in the Swedish city of Lund, grew up in Copenhagen . He finally received his training at the State Drama School in Copenhagen (Statens Teaterskole), where he also graduated in 1997.

In the spring of 1998 Cedergren appeared in Geir Sveaass ' staging of the Noël Coward play Design for Living at the Mungo Park Theater and a few months later he joined the ensemble of, among others, Lars Mikkelsen and Nikolaj Lie Kaas, who was also little experienced in the theater Royal Theater . In the same year Cedergren made his feature film debut with a small part in Christian Braad Thomsen's comedy Den blå munk (1998).

Cedergren became known to a broad Danish audience from 2000 through the male lead alongside Lars Mikkelsen and Stine Stengade in Ole Christian Madsen's lavish multi-part television series Edderkoppen . In the six-part crime series, he was seen as a young journalist investigating the widespread illegal work in post-war Denmark in 1949 . After his successful foray into television, Cedergren continued to work in the theater in the years to come. As a youngster with no future prospects, he appeared in Lars Noréns Rumaenere (Folketeatret, 2001), while he played the leading role of Christian in the original theater version of Thomas Vinterberg's Das Fest (Mammutteatret, 2002). In 2001 he directed Jesper Hyldegaard's play Flugten , a guest appearance at Taastrup Teater.

Since 2000, Cedergren has also played various characters in popular Scandinavian television series and television miniseries.
