Jakob Johann Taube von Kudding , Count Taube (born May 6, 1727 in Stockholm , † March 19, 1799 in Lübeck ) was a Swedish count who advanced to lieutenant general in the service of the Electorate of Braunschweig-Lüneburg and Sweden .

origin

He came from the German-Baltic-Swedish noble family of the Taube (noble family) ( Stammhaus Kudding ). His grandfather was the Swedish field marshal Gustaf Adam Taube (1673-1732), who had been raised to the status of Swedish count. His father, Hans Heinrich Taube von Kudding , Count Taube (1698–1766) served as court marshal at the Swedish royal court .

Career

In 1736 he joined the Upplands Infantry Regiment as a volunteer . In 1738 he obtained the NCO degree of weapons and ammunition master and was promoted to NCO in 1739. In 1742 he switched to the officer career and attained the rank of ensign . In 1744 he joined the Hanoverian army as a cadet . His promotion to lieutenant took place in 1745 and in 1748 he took his leave of the Upplands Infantry Regiment. The next promotion was in 1755 to lieutenant captain and in 1759 he was promoted to captain . In 1759 he became an adjutant to Ferdinand von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel , the Duke of Braunschweig-Lüneburg. This was followed in 1761 as a commander of Liebenau and commander of the 2nd Guard Battalion and in 1762 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel . In 1766 he commanded a regiment in Stralsund , in what was then Swedish Pomerania . On June 20, 1774 he took his leave of the army as lieutenant general. He spent his retirement in Lübeck.

In 1763, Count Jakob Johann von Taube married the baroness Hippolite Eleonore von Albedyll , the daughter of the privy councilor Friedrich von Albedyll and Henriette von Marenholtz . Your children were:
