Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski (born February 11, 1961 in Czernikowo ) is a Polish politician. He was Deputy Minister of Agriculture ( Wiceminister rolnictwa ) and agricultural advisor to the Polish President Lech Kaczyński . He is a member of the seventh legislature (2011–2015) in the Sejm . Minister of Agriculture since 2018 .

Life

Ardanowski completed his agricultural studies in 1985 at the Academy of Agriculture and Technology (today Uniwersytet Technologiczno-Przyrodniczy im. Jana i Jędrzeja Śniadeckich ) in Bydgoszcz . In 1993 he joined the party Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe - Porozumienie Ludowe ; since 2001 he has been a member of Prawo i Sprawiedliwość . From November 3, 2005 to December 21, 2007, he was the Minister's representative in the Ministry of Agriculture. From January 2008 he advised the President on agricultural issues.

In the period from 1998 to 2002 Ardanowski was a member of the Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność regional parliament of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship . In 2010 he was re-elected. In the national parliamentary elections in 2011, he was the first list of PiS in the constituency of Toruń . From 1992 to 2002 he was deputy chairman of the National Agricultural Advisory Commission ( Krajowa Rada Doradztwa Rolniczego ), and from 2003 to 2007 he was President of the National Council of Chambers of Agriculture ( Krajowa Rada Izb Rolniczych - KRIR ) in Warsaw . Ardanowski received several awards, such as the “Zasłużony dla Rolnictwa” medal (2001) and the golden Krzyż Zasługi (2004), as well as the French Ordre du Mérite agricole (2007). He is married and has five children.

On June 19, 2018 he was appointed Minister of Agriculture to the Morawiecki I cabinet . On November 15, 2019, he was confirmed as Minister of Agriculture in the Morawiecki II cabinet .
