Joachim Stanisław Brudziński (born February 4, 1968 in Świerklaniec ) is a Polish politician , university professor, political scientist and member of the Sejm in the V., VI. , VII. And VIII. Electoral term. As of November 12, 2015, he was one of the Vice-Marshals (Vice-Presidents). From January 2018 to June 2019 he was Minister of the Interior.

Brudziński is a graduate of the Nautical School in Świnoujście (Świnoujście). He graduated from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Szczecin with a specialization in political science with a teaching license. He then did his doctorate at the Institute of History at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan . The subject of his research interests are the economic use of the sea and coastal administration in Pomorze Zachodnie (Pomerania) after 1945.

Professional and political activity

He was the initiator and founder of the Coastal Center for Careers Information in Szczecin , which aims to improve the professional qualifications of Polish seafarers and fishermen and to help them find work on the international job market.

During his studies he worked on trading and fishing vessels. He later worked as an employee and journalist for the Polish Radio in Szczecin, where he mainly dealt with the coastal economy. He was a lecturer in the Zachodniopomorska Szkoła Biznesu .

In 1993 he joined the Catholic right-wing conservative Porozumienie Centrum (Center Agreement - PC), then he joined the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice - PiS). From August 2002 to July 2006 he was chairman of the party's regional leadership in Pomorze Zachodnie. From July 2006 to January 2008 he was general secretary of the party and since 2006 he has also been the chairman of the regional board of the PiS.

In 2005 he was elected to the Sejm with 14,731 votes on the list of the PiS for the constituency of Stettin. In the parliamentary elections in 2007 , 2011 and 2015 , he won another parliamentary seat .

Private

Brudziński is married and has two daughters.
