Teresa Tatiana Czerwińska , née Tumanovska (born September 7, 1974 in Daugavpils ), is a Polish economist . From January 2018 to June 2019 she headed the Ministry of Finance in the Morawiecki cabinet .

Life

She was born in the Latvian SSR as the daughter of Polish parents (Bogusław and Ludmiła) . She studied at the University of Gdansk in the Faculties of Social Sciences and Management. There she also did her doctoral thesis in 2000, with the title Działalność lokacyjna towarzystw ubezpieczeniowych na rynku kapitałowym w Polsce (The activity of investment insurance companies on the Polish capital market). Her habilitation thesis , also there in 2009, was entitled Polityka inwestycyjna instytucji ubezpieczeniowych - istota, uwarunkowania, instrumenty (The investment policy of insurance institutions - nature, conditions, instruments).

Subsequently, she worked as an associate professor at the Chair of Investment and Real Estate at the Faculty of Management at Gdansk University. In 2011 she moved to the Chair of Financial Systems at the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw as an Associate Professor . From 2015 to 2018 she was also the secretary of the Finance Committee at the Polish Academy of Sciences .

From December 2015 to June 2017 she was Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education . She then moved to the Ministry of Finance in the same role . In January 2018 she became finance minister in the Morawiecki cabinet . In June 2019 she moved to the board of directors of Narodowy Bank Polski .

Private

She is married and has a daughter.
