Jadwiga Katarzyna Emilewicz (born August 27, 1974 in Krakow ) is a Polish politician from Porozumienie . From 2018 to 2019 she headed the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology . Since November 2019 she has headed the newly created Ministry of Development .

Life

She is a graduate of the Institute of Political Science at Jagiellonian University in Krakow . From 1999 to 2002 she worked in the Prime Minister's Office in the Department of International Affairs. Since 2003 she has taught at the private European Pastor-Józef-Tischner University (Polish: Wyższa Szkoła Europejska im. Ks. Józefa Tischnera) in Krakow. In 2009 she took over the management of the Museum of the People's Republic of Poland in Nowa Huta . In 2011 she submitted her doctoral thesis at the Faculty of International and Political Education of the Jagiellonian University, entitled: Analiza polityczności i władzy na przykładzie reformy samorządowej z 1998 roku (An analysis of politics and power using the example of the reform of the self-government of 1998).

In April 2015 she was elected one of the vice-presidents of Polska Razem . In November 2015 she became Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economic Development . She was then appointed Minister for Entrepreneurship and Technology in the Morawiecki I cabinet in January 2018 . After the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2019 , she was appointed to the Morawiecki II cabinet and took over the management of the Ministry of Development .

Private

She is married and has three sons.
