Anna Streżyńska (2017)

Anna Maria Streżyńska , née Bajorek (born May 11, 1967 in Warsaw ), is a Polish functionary and entrepreneur . From 2015 to 2018 she headed the Ministry for Digitization .

Life

In 1994 she graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw . From 1995 to 1997 she worked at Urząd Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów , the Polish Office for Competition and Consumer Protection. From 1998 to 2001 she was an advisor to three successive ministers for communication in the Buzek cabinet and since 2000 she has also been a department head in this department.

From 2001 to 2004 she was the director of the Instytut Badań nad Gospodarką Rynkową , an institute dealing with market economy issues, and also headed the magazine “Prawo i ekonomia w telekomunikacji” (Law and Economics in Telecommunications).

From November 2005 to May 2006 she was undersecretary for communications in the Ministry of Transport and Construction in the Marcinkiewicz cabinet . At the same time, in January 2006, she was given the chairmanship of the Urząd Komunikacji Elektronicznej (Office for Electronic Communications), which had been newly established as the successor to the Urząd Regulacji Telekomunikacji i Poczty (Office for the Regulation of Telecommunications and Post). She held this position until February 2012.

Since 2012, she has been associated with Wielkopolska Sieć Szerokopasmowa ( Wielkopolska broadband network) as the chairman of the supervisory board and since 2014 as its chairman. In 2013 she became an expert and vice-president of the Fundacja Republikańska organization founded by Przemysław Wipler . In 2015 she took over the supervision of the network expansion in the Masovian Voivodeship .

In November 2015, she was appointed Minister for Digital Affairs in the Szydło Cabinet. In the successor government of Morawiecki , she was recalled in January 2018. With a few employees from the ministry, she then founded the data management company MC² Solutions.

Private

She is married to the former priest Józef Streżyński. They have two daughters.
