Jane Irwin Harrison

Jane Irwin Harrison (born July 23, 1804 Mercersburg, Pennsylvania , † May 11, 1845 ) was entrusted with the duties of First Lady of the United States during the one-month tenure of US President William H. Harrison . She was the widow of William H. Harrison Jr., his son. The President's wife, Anna Harrison , was very ill and could not accompany him to Washington , so Jane had to do some public work for her.

She was the aunt of the future US President Benjamin Harrison , whose mother and Jane's sister were also married to a son William H. and Anne Harrison, John Scott Harrison.
