The 1989/90 season was the 24th season of the Japan Ice Hockey League , the highest Japanese ice hockey division . The Ōji Eagles became champions for the eleventh time in the club's history . Top scorers with 45 points each were Toshiyuki Yajima and Norio Suzuki from Master Ōji Eagles.

In the regular season, each of the six teams played a total of 30 games. The first place after the regular season became champion. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
