Jarrett Albert Hart (born November 4, 1980 in Wandsworth , Greater London ) is a British basketball player . Hart grew up in Arkansas and is a US citizen . After finishing his studies in the USA, Hart became a professional in Europe and played in different countries. Since 2006 he has played for various Greek and Cypriot clubs, most recently since 2012 for Athletiki Enosi Kitiou from Larnaka . In 2009 he took part with the British national team in the 2009 European Championship finals .

Career

Youth and College (until 2004)

Hart went to Little Rock to school and won along with the future NBA - All-Star Joe Johnson in the basketball team of Little Rock Central High School 1999 State Championships of Arkansas. He then went to the University of Oklahoma and played for the college team Sooners in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. A kidney injury and a death in the family meant that he could not prevail at the Sooners and Hart pulled it after one Year ago, first of all to return to his native Arkansas and enroll at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith . There he played for the university team Lions in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), in which he was one of the nation's best players ( All-American ) in this league. After two years, his performance gave him the opportunity to play for a college team in the NCAA Division I and in 2002 Hart moved to Kansas State University . Short-term contracts in Europe (2004 to 2006)

Engagements in Greece and Cyprus (since 2006)

2006 Hart got a contract in the Greek A2 Ethniki with Kolossos from Rhodes and played the entire 2006/07 season with this club, with which he rose to the top division A1 Ethniki at the end of the season . For the following season he moved to Cyprus, where he played for Keravnos from Nicosia for the following three years. In 2008, they won the Cypriot championship in their very first season. The following season they were eliminated in the European club competition EuroChallenge , in which the Cypriot club AEL Limassol reached and hosted the Final Four last year , after only one win, which took place at home against the German representative Telekom Baskets Bonn , in six games in the preliminary round out. In the Cypriot championship they lost the final series against the basketball team of local rivals APOEL Nicosia . In the summer of 2009 Hart took part with the British national team for the first time in a European Championship finals . After three defeats against the later semi-finalists Slovenia , Spain and Serbia , however, they were eliminated in the first group stage. In the following season Keravnos was eliminated in the semi-finals of the championship and Hart left the club. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he planned to work with the Beijing Aoshen , who play in the ABA , but then played for the traditional basketball team of AEK Athens . AEK Athens got into serious financial and sporting waters after the loss of sponsors and was relegated from the highest Greek league at the end of the season. Hart was unable to help the club due to injury complaints at the end of the season and so also missed the 2011 European Championship with the British national team. At the beginning of 2012 he had a comeback again in Cyprus at AEK Larnaka. Persistent Achilles tendon problems prevented participation with the British national team in the 2012 Olympic Games in his native London.
