Yegor Gennadjewitsch Podomazki ( Russian Егор Геннадьевич Подомацкий ; born November 22, 1976 in Rybinsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey goalkeeper .
Career
Yegor Podomazki grew up in Rybinsk and started playing ice hockey in his hometown. Later he moved to the ice hockey school Sdjuschor Yaroslavl . In the 1995/96 season he made his debut for Torpedo Yaroslavl in the International Hockey League , where he was second goalkeeper behind Yevgeny Tarasov . In the following two seasons Podomazki was a regular goalkeeper of Torpedo, where he got competition from Vitaly Jeremejew in 1997 . In 1997 Podomazki also won his first Russian championship title with Yaroslavl .
In the 1998/99 season he shared the goalkeeping position with Oleg Schewzow , before he was the club's regular goalkeeper again in the following season. In 2000 his homeland club was renamed Lokomotive Yaroslavl . In 2002 and 2003 Podomazki won two more Russian championship titles with Yaroslavl. By 2008 he completed 387 games for Yaroslavl in the top division of Russia, with a total of 62 shutouts . He holds the goalkeeping record for games played for the same club in Russia.
In 2008, before the first KHL season, he moved to HK Lada Tolyatti , where he made few appearances as the third goalkeeper behind Vasily Koschetschkin and Mike Fountain and was therefore also used in the club's second team and at Disel Pensa .
In the summer of 2009 he was first signed by Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg and completed a preparatory game for the club. Then his contract was dissolved and Podomazki signed a contract with HK Rys Podolsk from the Wysschaja Liga . He left this club again after 32 games and moved within the league to Ariada-Akpars Wolschsk . In Wolschsk he was under contract until November 2010 and completed 27 games for the club before moving to Yermak Angarsk within the Vysschaya Hockey League . For Jermak, he made a total of 29 appearances in the second division of Russia.
International
At the 1998 World Cup , Podomazki was part of the Russian national team for the first time and received two missions as the second goalkeeper behind Oleg Shevtsov , in which he conceded nine goals. A year later, at the 1999 World Cup , he was part of the squad again and was used as a regular goalkeeper in all six games of the Sbornaja, where he achieved a catch rate of 90.58 percent and a goalscoring rate of 2.41. Further participation in the world title competitions followed in 2000 , 2002 and 2004 , where he was again the regular goalkeeper of Sbornaja in 2000 and in 2002 formed an equal goalkeeper duo with Maxim Sokolow . At the 2002 World Cup, Podomazki also won the silver medal, while Sokolow was also named the tournament's best goalkeeper.
Podomazki's international career was crowned with a bronze medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics , where he was not used as the second goalkeeper behind Nikolai Chabibulin .
