Beginnings

Jelena Radionova (2012)

Jelena Radionova has been running on the ice since she was three and has been training at CSKA Moscow since she was a child . In Russia she was noticed for the first time as fourth place in the national junior championships 2010/2011 and won bronze in this competition the following year. In 2012/13 she took part in the Junior Grand Prix competitions of the ISU for the first time and won the competitions in France and Austria as well as the final in Sochi.

In 2013 Radionova became Russian junior champion at the age of 14 and also won the silver medal at the Russian championships for senior women. Shortly afterwards she became Junior World Champion in Milan .

2013/14 season

In the 2013 season Radionowa started for the first time internationally in the senior sector. At the start of the season she won the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf . She made her debut in the ISU Grand Prix series at Skate America , where she immediately took bronze behind the two-time world champion Mao Asada from Japan and the American Ashley Wagner . She did even better at her second Grand Prix event: at the NHK Trophy she finished second, again behind Asada. At the Russian Championships in 2014, she took third place. Because of her youth, she was not yet eligible to compete in international senior championships. At the Junior World Championships in Sofia , she was the first female athlete to successfully defend her title in the individual run discipline.

2014/15 season

In 2014 Radionowa won her two grand prix competitions, Trophée Eric Bompard and Skate America. At the Grand Prix final , she took second place behind her compatriot Jelisaveta Tuktamysheva . At the Russian Championships she was able to secure her first adult title. At the European Championships in Stockholm she was runner-up behind Tuktamysheva when she first participated, and she took third place at the World Figure Skating Championships in Shanghai.

2015/16 season

In 2016 Radionowa was again vice European champion .
