Alexandra Vyacheslavovna Trussowa ( Russian Александра Вячеславовна Трусова ; born June 23, 2004 in Ryazan ) is a Russian figure skater . She is the junior world champion of 2018 and the first figure skater to show two quadruple jumps in one program and stand a quadruple toe loop . Her technical best value in the freestyle of 92.35 is the highest number of points achieved so far in the junior and senior division, and at the age of 13, she is the youngest junior world champion to date.

family

Her father Vyacheslav Trussov is a master of the sport in three different martial arts . Trusova has two younger brothers, Egor and Ivan.

figure skating

Trussova started figure skating in 2008. She was trained by Olga Schewzowa until 2011, after which she moved to Larissa Melkowa due to her age. In 2013, her family moved to Moscow , where she was looked after by Alexander Volkov for three years and, after a short period with Anna Zaryova, finally moved to the training group of Eteri Tutberidze and Sergei Dudakov in 2016 . Trussowa has been a member of the Russian national team since 2017.

At the Russian junior championships in early February 2017, Trussowa finished fourth. As of mid-2017, she was old enough according to the rules of the ISU to take part in international junior competitions. At the end of August she made her debut with a first place at the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) in Brisbane . In the freestyle she landed a not fully rotated quadruple Salchow . Trussowa won again at the JGP in Minsk and qualified for the Junior Grand Prix final in Nagoya, Japan . There she set an unofficial junior world record in the short program with 73.25 points. In the freestyle, her compatriot Aljona Kostornaja was able to achieve a score about 0.5 points better, but added Trussowa was about one point ahead and was thus able to win the competition.

Another narrow win against Kostornaja was achieved in January 2018 when she was about 0.6 points ahead at the Russian Junior Championships. A month later, at the final of the Russian Cup, a quadruple Salchow was rated by her as not underrotated for the first time , after she had either fallen in the competitions or only rotated to the end on the ice. For the first time she also built a second quadruple jump, but she could not stand the toe loop .

In March 2018, Trussova replaced Julija Lipnitskaja in Sofia, Bulgaria, as the youngest junior world champion in the history of the junior world championships . There she stood, already leading after the short program, in the freestyle a four-fold salchow and a four-fold toe loop . This makes Trussowa the first female figure skater ever to land two quadruple jumps in a program, the first to stand a quadruple toe loop and the second after Miki Andō , who managed a quadruple salchow. With her number of points in the freestyle (153.49) as well as with the total number of points (225.52), she exceeded the junior highs previously held by Olympic champion Alina Sagitowa . Trussowa's overall technical value in the freestyle of 92.35 points is the best value ever achieved and over 10 points higher than Sagitova's at the 2018 Olympic Games .

At the 2019 Grand Prix Final, Trussowa did a four-fold flip in the freestyle . She is the first female figure skater to do this in a competition. At the European Figure Skating Championships in 2020 , the 15-year-old finished in January 2020 in the Austrian Graz behind Alyona Kostornaja and Anna Shcherbakova third.
