Jem (music producer)

Jem (real name Peter Seifert ) is a German music producer and sound engineer from Neuss . He runs the Black Sheep Studio there together with Jürgen Dahmen .

Life

He started his career as an engineer for Olaf Opal , where he worked on Narcotic von Liquido and Josephine von Reamonn , among others . JEM also did the mix for Reamonn on their debut single Supergirl . Bands such as Miles and the Miles successor to Tobias Kuhn Monta also used JEM's services as producers.

JEM also worked on Madsen , Virginia albums Now! , Donots and the guano apes . Together with Andreas Herbig and Henrik Menzel, he took over the musical direction, arrangement and production of Udo Lindenberg's DVD MTV Unplugged - Live from the Hotel Atlantic . The DVD and the album were mixed by Andreas Herbig and JEM. JEM also worked with Ich + Ich , Andreas Bourani and Jennifer Rostock .

In March 2010, JEM was awarded the Echo for the production of Gute Reise (Ich + Ich) .

In March 2012, JEM, Andreas Herbig and Henrik Menzel were awarded the Echo for “Best Producer Team” for the album productions of Udo Lindenberg's MTV Unplugged-Live from the Hotel Atlantic (Warner) and Andreas Bouranis Staub und Fantasie (Universal) .

He took the name JEM from his own band, which released some songs under this band name in the mid-1990s. After the band split up, he kept this name and has since become known in the music industry under this pseudonym.
