Jenni Asserholt (born April 8, 1988 in Örebro ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been playing for the HV71 in the Swedish top division, the Svenska damhockeyligan , since 2015 .

Career

Asserholt first played in her hometown for Guldsmedshytte SK , before moving to HC Örebro 90 in 2001 , for which she played in Division 1 (the highest women's ice hockey league at the time) until 2007. In 2005 the club was renamed Örebro HK . For the 2007/08 season, the striker left her hometown and ran a game year for the women's team of Linköpings HC in the Riksserien . After a one-year stint at the University of Minnesota Duluth , she returned to Linköping in 2009 and won two Swedish championships with the club by 2015 . For the 2015/16 season she moved to league rivals HV71 in Jönköping .

International

Asserholt has taken part in numerous World Championships and Olympic Winter Games for her home country since 2004. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she won the silver medal in the Olympic ice hockey tournament with the Swedish women's national team . She celebrated further success by winning the bronze medal at the 2005 and 2007 World Championships .

In total, Asserholt had played 235 international matches by 2016, in which she scored 23 goals.
