Jeremy Irvine (* 18th June 1990 in Cambridgeshire , England as Jeremy Smith ) is a British actor .

Life

Jeremy Irvine grew up in the village of Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire. He has had diabetes since he was six years old . He attended school in Bedford , Bedfordshire and then studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art .

He got his first role in 2009 in the television series Life Bites , where he played the character of Luke in several episodes. In 2010 he appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the play Dunsinane by David Greig.

In 2011 he was cast in the lead role of the Steven Spielberg film Companions , which is based on the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo , and played the role of Albert Narracott alongside Emily Watson , Peter Mullan and David Thewlis .

Other projects of his 2012 were a new film adaptation by Charles Dickens Great Expectations directed by Mike Newell , in which he played Pip, as well as the film Now Is Good based on the book of the same name by Jenny Downham . In 2013 he starred in the war drama The Love of His Life - The Railway Man alongside Colin Firth , Nicole Kidman and Stellan Skarsgård . In 2014 he got the lead role in the movie Stonewall . In 2016, he took on the male lead of Daniel Grigori in the film adaptation of the novel Engelsnacht by Lauren Kate .

In 2013, Irvine was in a relationship with singer Ellie Goulding for a few months .
