Isaiah Rompler von Löwenhalt

Jesaias Rompler von Löwenhalt (baptized June 18, 1605 in Dinkelsbühl ; † after 1672 , possibly in Durlach ) was a German poet and draftsman. He is considered an important representative of German baroque poetry . He was a popular casual poet in the baroque aristocratic and court society of the German south-west. He was ennobled in 1641.

Life

After attending school in his home town of Dinkelsbühl, Rompler enrolled in Altdorf near Nuremberg in 1626 , acquired a master's degree in law in Tübingen two years later , and enrolled again in Strasbourg in 1628 . Together with other interested friends, including Johannes Freinsheim , Johann Michael Moscherosch and Johann Matthias Schneuber , he founded the Aufrichtige Tannengesellschaft here in 1633 to keep the German language clean. Even Philip of Zesen German minded cooperative took him in 1645 to. Around 1647 he moved to the vicinity of the Württemberg court in Mömpelgard . After 1655 he lived at the Baden court in Durlach , where he can be evidenced by occasional poetry until 1672. After that his track is lost.
