Jo Schück (born Joachim Schück in Fürth on September 12, 1980 ) is a German journalist and television presenter . Since 2007 he has been working as an author and presenter for ZDF .

Life

Schück grew up in Lorsch , Hesse . During his school days he made his first journalistic experience at Bergsträßer Anzeiger , a local branch of Mannheimer Morgen.

Schück graduated in Mainz and Sydney to study journalism , philosophy and economics . During his studies he worked for Hit Radio FFH in Frankfurt and the public broadcaster SBS Radio Alchemy in Sydney. For the latter, he moderated Alchemy Chills and Friday Night, among others. Schück also wrote for ZEIT Online (Zuender), the Wiesbadener Tagblatt and the Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung .

From 2004 he worked at Radio Fritz ( RBB ) in Berlin / Potsdam as a reporter, mainly focusing on music and social politics. From 2006 he was also the presenter of a daily four-hour music program Soundgarden , the listener call-in program Blue Moon and various special programs (such as IFA).

Schück completed a traineeship at ZDF in 2007 , then became part of the ZDF politics editorial team and made his first attempts at moderation on TV digital. Among other things, Schück appeared as a live reporter in federal or state elections and designed new programs, some of which he moderated.

Since 2010 he has also been working as an author and presenter for documentaries for the ZDFzoom series . The film Escape to the Caribbean - Corporate Tax Tricks in particular caused a lot of excitement in 2013, for which it received the CNN Journalist Award in the TV category.

When it was founded in 2011, he also became one of the main presenters of zdf.kultur , the first public pop culture channel. Here he moderated u. a. a daily magazine broadcast (the marker), live broadcasts of the major music festivals and special programs in the fields of music, poetry and politics.

From February 2014 he was the presenter of the weekly ZDF culture magazine aspekte , alongside Katty Salié and Tobias Schlegl, and performed alternately with his colleagues as a duo. Since Schlegl left in September 2016, he has been moderating the show with Katty Salié as a duo. At the same time, he continues to act as an author and presenter of various documentaries and reports.

Schück also moderates and designs off-air events (including the Grimme Online Award , re: publica , Media Convention , Medientage München ).

Schück lives in Berlin .
