Achim Schmidtchen

Achim Schmidtchen (born April 25, 1928 in Wurgwitz near Freital , † December 18, 1997 in Dresden ) was a German actor.

Life

Schmidtchen began in an amateur theater group and then completed an acting training at the Academy for Music and Theater in Dresden , among others with Erich Ponto . After his theater debut in Bautzen , he played at the Dresden Volksbühne in 1947/48, then in Lübeck and Freiburg im Breisgau . From 1956 to 1958 he was engaged at the German National Theater in Weimar , from 1958 to 1971 at the Schauspiel Leipzig and from 1971 to 1992 at the Staatstheater Dresden . Since the late 1950s, he was also occasionally seen in film and television.

He was married to the actress Regina Jeske .
