Jonathan Lee Hogg (born December 6, 1988 in Middlesbrough ) is an English football player who has been under contract with Huddersfield Town since the summer of 2013 .
Career
Jonathan Hogg began his career at Middlesbrough FC in 1997 before joining Aston Villa in 2004. In March 2007, an injury to the cruciate ligament threw him back, but after the injury was healed , he came to the reserve team and was instrumental in winning the Premier Reserve League South 2008/09 with his goals . In July 2008 he got a two-year contract with Aston and was part of the squad that won the Peace Cup in 2009.
In November 2009 he was loaned to Darlington FC from Football League Two for six weeks . He made his debut on November 21 against Chesterfield FC and scored in the 87th minute for a 2: 3 goal before Scott Boden sealed the 2: 5 defeat with two more goals.
For the 2010/11 season, Hogg was initially in the professional squad of Aston Villa. He made his debut for Villa on August 19, 2010 in a 1-1 draw against SK Rapid Wien in the UEFA Europa League and on November 13 in a 2-2 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League . In December, Hogg signed a new contract until 2013.
On January 25, 2011 he was loaned to Portsmouth FC until the end of the season . On the same day he came to his first game for Portsmouth in the 2-1 loss to Burnley FC . After 19 league games and no scoring, he returned to Aston Villa at the end of the season.
On August 30, 2011, Hogg moved to the English second division club Watford and signed a three-year contract. Two days later he made his league debut against Birmingham City . At the end of the 2011/12 season, he completed 40 league games for Watford and was voted fourth best player of the season.
Although Hogg was a regular at Watford FC and almost achieved promotion to the Premier League, he signed a three-year contract with Huddersfield Town on July 29, 2013 .
