Collin Quaner (born June 18, 1991 in Düsseldorf ) is a German - Ghanaian soccer player . The striker is under contract with Huddersfield Town .

Career

Quaner, the son of a Ghanaian father and a German mother, started his football career at Fortuna Düsseldorf , where he went through all youth teams. In the 2009/10 season he was used in the U-19 Bundesliga team. On May 22, 2010 he made his debut in the second team in the regional league game against the second team from Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

For the 2010/11 season Quaner moved to Arminia Bielefeld . He made his debut in the professional team on August 13, 2010 in the DFB Cup game at SSV Jahn Regensburg . A week later he made his first second division game in the away game against FSV Frankfurt . He scored his first second division goal against VfL Bochum to make it 1-1. In September 2010 he was invited by U-20 national coach Frank Wormuth to a course for the German U-20 national team. In the friendly against the U-20 national team of Switzerland following the course, he played the first half and scored a goal.

After Bielefeld's relegation, he left the club and joined FC Ingolstadt in August 2011 , where he received a contract that ran until 2013. In the 2011/12 season he was mostly used as a substitute. In the preliminary round of the subsequent 2012/13 season, he was used in only one second division game. He received match practice with the second team of the club in the regional league. In order to be able to play at a higher level, Quaner was loaned out to third division club Hansa Rostock in January 2013 for half a year . In return, Quaner's contract term was extended to 2014. He played seven games for Rostock in the second half of the season before returning to Ingolstadt for the new 2013/14 season. After he was only used in the second team in the preliminary round, he completed eleven second division games in the second half for the professional team, where he was on the starting line-up five times.

After his contract in Ingolstadt ended, Quaner moved to league competitor VfR Aalen for the 2014/15 season , with whom he signed a one-year contract with an extension option. During the 2015 summer break, he went to 1. FC Union Berlin and received a two-year contract.

In the winter break of 2016/17 Quaner moved to the English second division club Huddersfield Town and signed a contract that ran until 2020. He scored his first goal for the new club in his first game; in the fourth round of the FA Cup he scored in a 4-0 victory over AFC Rochdale . At the end of the season he rose to the Premier League with Huddersfield Town . After he only made two short appearances in the 2018/19 season , Quaner was awarded to the second division club Ipswich Town on January 8, 2019 until the end of the season .
