Jonathan Scherzer (born July 22, 1995 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Scherzer began his career at SV Spittal / Drau . He then played in the United States for Athens United . From there he moved to Germany to Borussia Mönchengladbach . He then also played for TSV 1860 Munich .

For the 2013/14 season he moved to FC Augsburg . After a season with the A-Juniors, he made his debut for the Augsburg team in July 2014, when he was in the starting line-up against FV Illertissen on the first day of the 2014/15 season and was replaced by Felix Habersetzer in the 72nd minute. He scored his first goal in August 2014 against FC Bayern Munich II .

After more than 70 appearances for the second team of the FCA, he returned to Austria in January 2018, where he joined the Bundesliga club FC Admira Wacker Mödling . He made his Bundesliga debut in February 2018 when he started against SK Rapid Wien on matchday 22 of the 2017/18 season.

After two and a half years at Admira, he moved to league rivals Wolfsberger AC for the 2020/21 season , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2022.
