Dominik Baumgartner (born July 20, 1996 ) is an Austrian soccer player . The defender is currently under contract with Wolfsberger AC .

Career

society

Baumgartner began his career at SV Horn before moving to the St. Pölten Football Academy in 2009. After four years, he moved back to Horn in 2013 . He made his debut for Horn in the first round of the ÖFB Cup 2013/14 against FC Hard . In 2015 he moved to SV Grödig .

After Grödig retired from professional football, he moved to second division FC Wacker Innsbruck in summer 2016 , where he received a contract that was valid until June 2018.

With Innsbruck he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2018 .

In January 2019 Baumgartner moved to Germany for the second division club VfL Bochum , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2022. In the same month he made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga when he was in the starting line-up against MSV Duisburg on matchday 19 of the 2018/19 season. By the end of the season he came to eleven missions in which he scored one goal.

In September 2019 he returned to Austria on loan and switched to Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC . By the end of the loan, the defender had played twelve games for the Carinthians in the Bundesliga. As third in the championship round, Baumgartner was able to qualify again for the Europa League with the Wolves . In July 2020 he was firmly committed by the Carinthians and received a contract that ran until June 2022.

National team

Baumgartner made his debut for the Austrian U16 team in November 2011 . In March 2012 he played for the U17 team for the first time .

In November 2013 he made his first appearance for the U19 team . In March 2016 he made his debut in a friendly against Ukraine for the U21 team .
