Josef Krastel
Josef Krastel (born December 18, 1899 in Vienna ; † May 7, 1973 there ) was an Austrian actor and director .
Life
JOSEF KRASTEL had 1953-1954 a commitment as an actor and director at the United Stages in Graz . In the 1954/1955 season he played the role of valet in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Der Schwierige at the theater in der Josefstadt . From 1955 to 1960 he was acting director at the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck and in 1961 became a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Burgtheater . There you could see him in 1963 in a production by Kurt Meisel in Ferdinand Raimund's Der Verschwender .
Josef Krastel also worked in several film and television productions . These included the 1948 adventure film Arlberg-Express by Eduard von Borsody with Paul Hubschmid , Elfe Gerhart-Dahlke and Hans Putz and in 1958 the entertainment film Hallo, Taxi directed by Hermann Kugelstadt with Hans Moser , Paul Hörbiger and Gerlinde Locker . In 1961 he portrayed the character of the confessor in the television adaptation of Ödön von Horváth's Tales from the Vienna Woods in the television adaptation of Österreichischer Rundfunk . Directed by Erich Neuberg , he played alongside Hans Moser, Jane Tilden , Fritz Eckhardt and Helmut Qualtinger, among others . Josef Krastel had a final role in 1971 in the series Witches in the television series Der Kurier der Kaiserin .
His final resting place is in the Hietzinger Friedhof (group 28, number 10) in Vienna.
