Jozef Barmoš (born August 28, 1954 in Šurany , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak football player and current coach .

Player career

Barmoš started playing football at Družstevník Bešeňovo, in 1970 he moved to Inter Bratislava . In 1978 the defender played for Dukla Prague , then again for Inter Bratislava. In 1985 he ended his career.

Between 1977 and 1982 Barmoš played 52 times for the Czechoslovak national team . He took part in the 1982 World Cup and the 1980 European Championship .

Trainer and functionary career

Barmoš initially worked as a coach at the Austrian club SV Sieghartskirchen. From 1995 to 1998 he was assistant coach for the Slovak national team , after which he led the U-21 team. From 2000 to 2002 he was the trainer of MŠK Žilina . In the following years he worked as general manager at Inter Bratislava , where he was also a trainer in 2004/05. From March 2006 to the beginning of 2007 he was responsible for the Slovak U20 national team, then until the end of 2008 for the U-21 selection.
