Juan Antonio Brabo (born May 5, 1987 in Saragossa ) is a Spanish ice hockey player who has been under contract with CH Jaca in the Spanish Super League since 2014 .

Career

Juan Brabo began his career as a hockey player in the youth team of the CH Jaca , for whose first team he made his debut in the Spanish Super League in the 2004/05 season . With Jaca he became Spanish champion straight away in his rookie year . After winning the cup in the following season, the defender moved to Jacas league rivals CH Txuri Urdin , for whom he played in the following four years. After spending two years on the ice for CG Puigcerdà , he has been playing for CH Gasteiz since 2014 , with whom he was again Spanish national champion in 2013 and 2014. In 2014 he returned to Jaca and won other championships with the club in 2015 and 2016.

International

For Spain , Brabo took part in the junior division in the U18 World Junior Championships in Division II in 2004 and 2005 and in the U20 Junior World Championships in Division II in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 .

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships of Division II in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , when he was voted the best player of his team, in 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 as well as at the World Cup Division I 2011 . In 2016, the Spaniards narrowly missed promotion to Division I when, after a 2-0 lead after two-thirds, to which Brabo contributed the second goal, they only lost 3-2 in extra time against the later promoted team the Netherlands had to accept. He also competed for his country in the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi .
