Julius Adolf Friedrich Treusch von Buttlar (born March 30, 1716 in Markershausen , † November 29, 1784 in Woltersdorf ) was a Prussian major general , knight of the order Pour le Mérite and governor of Ziesar .

Life

origin

He came from the old Upper Franconian - Hessian noble family Treusch von Buttlar . His parents were Georg Ernst Treusch von Buttlar (born December 26, 1690 in Markershausen; † January 30, 1754 ibid), Herr auf Frauenborn, Steinhof, Hahnhof and Bulitzgrube, and Sophie Luise von Buttlar-Ziegenberg.

Military career

Treusch was in the Hessian service from 1730 to 1741, but had to leave the country after a duel . He was then on May 6, 1741 as second lieutenant in the III. Battalion Guard of the Prussian Army employed. Treusch took part in the campaign in 1744/45 , fought near Hohenfriedberg and was wounded in thrush . By August 1753 he was promoted to captain and company commander . During the campaign in 1756/63 he took part in the battle of Leuthen and was awarded the Pour le Mérite order for his achievements. In August 1758 the king appointed him major , and in December 1763 he was given the office of governor of Ziesar. In 1765 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. In August 1767 he was made colonel and shortly thereafter commander of the 1st Battalion of the Guard. In 1771 he received the Potsdam Infantry Inspection. Since he fell ill, Treusch received his departure in October 1776 at his own request with a pension of 1200 thalers.

He first moved to Ziesar and then to Woltersdorf in Brandenburg. He died there on November 29, 1784.

Treusch was married to Marie Sophie von Waßmannsdorff (* in Potsdam). The following children were born from the marriage:
