Friedrich Wilhelm Julius von Rekowski (born March 10, 1804 in Erfurt ; † December 21, 1869 there ) was a Prussian major general and commander of Saarlouis .

Life

origin

Julius was the son of the Prussian major Peter von Rekowski (1763-1819) and his wife Dorothea, née Conradi (1773-1842).

Military career

Rekowski joined the 37th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a musketeer on January 22, 1821 and was promoted to secondary lieutenant by the end of September 1824 . In 1828/29 he served as a battalion and then regimental adjutant. By April 1843 Rekowski rose to captain and company commander . With his promotion to major on January 23, 1851, he was transferred to the 25th Infantry Regiment . From mid-June 1851 to mid-November 1852 he was in command of the 8th Combined Reserve Battalion and was then commander of the 2nd Battalion. On January 27, 1855, he was transferred to Saarlouis as commander of the 2nd Battalion in the 30th Landwehr Regiment, and in mid-October 1856, Rekowski was promoted to lieutenant colonel . For the duration of the mobile relationship on the occasion of the Sardinian War , he was commander of the 25th Landwehr Regiment in 1859. On May 3, 1860, Rekowski was promoted to Colonel à la suite of the 25th Infantry Regiment and appointed commander of Saarlouis. In this position he received the character of major general on June 25, 1864 . On 4 April 1865 Rekowski was awarded the Red Eagle II. Class with oak leaves with board for disposition made.

family

Rekowski married on May 4, 1839 in Luxemburg with Emma Trützschler von Falkenstein (1812-1893), daughter of the Prussian Lieutenant General Karl Trützschler von Falkenstein . The marriage remained childless.
