Karl Trützschler von Falkenstein

Karl Ludwig Trützschler von Falkenstein (born August 19, 1786 in Neuwied , † November 4, 1866 in Königsberg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Karl was the son of the Prussian captain a. D. Georg Trützschler von Falkenstein (1756–1837) and his wife Marie Luise, née von Berlett (1764–1854).

Military career

Trützschler joined the 2nd Magdeburg Fusilier Brigade of the Prussian Army as a private corporal on April 1, 1799 and was promoted to second lieutenant until April 1803 . In the Fourth Coalition War he fought in the Battle of Jena and was captured while retreating in mid-October 1806.

After the Treaty of Tilsit concluded Trützschler to 1809 the Corps Schill and it became a half years imprisonment convicted. On June 9, 1812 he was assigned to the 9th Infantry Regiment and employed as a war commissioner in the Pankin stage. As captain and company commander he was active in the 3rd Pomeranian Landwehr Infantry Regiment from June 1813 and took part in the siege of Stettin , the storm on Wittenberg and the battle near Reims during the wars of liberation . He fought in the Battle of Laon and received the Iron Cross II. Class for the Battle of Paris .

On May 18, 1816 Trützschler was aggregated to the 30th Infantry Regiment and on March 31, 1817 to the 5th Infantry Regiment . This was followed from March 30, 1818 to March 16, 1820 as a company commander in the 35th Infantry Regiment . He was then transferred to the 37th Infantry Regiment . There Trützschler was promoted to major on September 15, 1826 with a patent from April 12, 1826 and rose to lieutenant colonel on March 30, 1839. Man charged him on March 30, 1840, first with the leadership of the 3rd Infantry Regiment and appointed Trützschler on September 10, 1840 simultaneous promotion to colonel as commander of this association . He was then commander of the 15th Infantry Brigade in Cologne for a year before Trützschler took over the 2nd Infantry Brigade in Danzig on March 27, 1847 when he was promoted to Major General . After the death of his first wife, he married Bertha Schäfer, widowed Frommer (1800–1877) in Königsberg on December 16, 1842.
