Cabinet of Konstantinos Karamanlis VII

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The cabinet of Konstantinos Karamanlis VII was established in Greece on November 28, 1977 by Konstantinos Karamanlis . This cabinet existed until May 10, 1980, when it was replaced by the Georgios Rallis cabinet after Prime Minister Karamanlis had been elected President . In the parliamentary election of November 20, 1977 , the Karamanlis-led Nea Dimokratia (ND) received 41.84 percent of the vote. Due to the increased proportional representation, it had 173 of the 300 seats in parliament and thus a disproportionate absolute majority. However, compared to the previous parliamentary election of November 17, 1974 , the ND had to accept significant losses of 12.53 percentage points and 47 seats.
